We are beyond disappointed in being forced to cancel our inaugural Blues Footy Fest last week. It was our chance to come together as a community to celebrate the sport we love, go up against the Crusaders and to give back to those in dire need due to the 2020 lockdowns.
The Footy Fest was also our way as a club to maintain momentum, give back to you, our fans and to kick start the excitement for the upcoming Sky SRA season.
While we are a diverse bunch in terms of our culture, our beliefs and where we live, there is a united and passionate energy that drives our players, our staff and our loyal fans – the true-blue blood that runs through our veins.
Blues fans have been forced to cope with this pandemic on frequent occasions.
For us, while getting back to level 2 to train is a relief, it comes
with significant additional costs, on top of an existing challenging fight to keep our heads above water from past lockdowns.
Additionally, the Footy Fest had incurred operational costs and left our charity partners without the much-needed financial support that we had hoped for.
We are humbled that many of you have reached out to gift your Footy Fest ticket to the club, to which we are incredibly grateful, thank you! Some have suggested we open this gifting opportunity wider. We know that you may be doing it tough also, so we don't make this request lightly.
If you would like to gift your Footy Fest ticket to the club we would like to include you in our 'Blues Ballot'. The week of each Home game 20 names will be pulled from the ballot and given a Blues experience or gift.
